Ewan McGregor lands an interesting role as the Ghost to former British PM Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan), hired to revise Lang’s memoires. After being accused of war crimes, Lang takes refuge in America with his wife, Ruth (Olivia Williams) and executive assistant-slash-booty call, Amelia (Kim Cattrall). (If you haven’t seen Joss Whedon’s series Dollhouse and Olivia Williams play Adelle DeWitt, you must get involved). The Ghost soon realizes he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he finds clues to the war crimes left by the previous ghostwriter, who died in mysterious circumstances. The tension builds as the Ghost continues investigating the ‘official’ life story of Lang. The characters feel the walls closing in as the situation becomes more and more complicated. The Ghost Writer, based on the Robert Harris bestseller, looks engaging and intense and most reviews have been promising. I’m looking forward to it!
