Win tickets to see “My Blueberry Nights”

blueberrynights_poster.jpgMy Blueberry Nights” is the latest film by critically hailed “2046″ director Wong Kar Wai and it’s got a stellar cast featuring some of Hollywood’s brightest actors in it. Singer Norah Jones makes her feature debut in Wai’s film playing Elizabeth, a woman who takes a dramatic life-altering change in her life when she discovers that her boyfriend is seeing another woman. Before she leaves New York City to start her life anew, she bonds with a cafe owner (played by Jude Law) and then starts sending him postcards from her new life in Memphis. Elizabeth encounters other unusual characters, each at a stage in their lives where imminent change is about to take place. Also starring in the film are Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and David Strathairn.

MovieSet is now hosting the trailer for “My Blueberry Nights” on its page so you can see for yourself how wonderfully blueberry the film looks (and don’t say that I can’t use the word “blueberry” as a verb.) Additionally, MovieSet is also giving you the chance to win 1 of 25 double passes to see the film! All you have to do is live in the Vancouver area and leave a wall post on MovieSet’s Facebook page before May 16.

And if you want to see stills from the movie, be sure to check out the “My Blueberry Nights” gallery listing.

And the winner of what was in Mini-Indy’s bag was…

postal_indy_hat.jpg…Susan Ladd! Our winner used her mental savvy to think about what could be stashed inside Mini-Indy’s bag and guessed it was a 1943 MKVII gas mask. Unfortunately Susan was wrong; tucked away inside the satchel was a one-of-a-kind Krotchy doll made especially for “Postal” and that comes in its own packaging. Congratulations to Susan and look at it this way: I think it shows better on you that your guess wasn’t a children’s toy that looks like an anthromophosized penis. Show your prize off by taking it into your office and sending us a photo!

If you haven’t heard already, MovieSet has launched a second “Postal” contest and this time we’re telling you straight up what you stand to win: it’s Mini-Indy’s hat! Yes, now you can possess the same fedora that Verne Troyer wore. Own this piece of showbiz collectible history to impress members of the opposite sex with, pass down to your descendants, or just sell it for hundreds of thousands of dollars on a certain online auction website. The choice is entirely up to you! Enter MovieSet’s latest content and get in on the fun!

Free NYC screening of Postal and Uwe talks Indy

uwe_boll_iview_postalUwe Boll dropped by the MovieSet offices last week to talk about his latest film and why he’s issued a challenge to the world’s greatest adventurer, Indiana Jones. Boll’s “Postal” is primed to open on Friday, May 23 — one day after “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, the fourth movie in the Indiana Jones series, arrives on cinema screens. Every other Hollywood studio is staying far away from the opening weekend of “Indy 4″, so why is Boll adamant in putting his movie up against Indy? Is he crazy like a fox or just crazy? You can learn the reasons for yourself by watching our exclusive interview with Uwe Boll now posted on MovieSet’s “Postal” page.

Uwe also told us how you can catch a FREE advance screening of “Postal” if you live in New York City or Chicago. The NYC screening will happen on April 1 @ 8:00 PM at the Tribeca Film Center, and if you would like to get the opportunity to come see the movie that has the internet buzzing all you need to do is join the “Postal” Facebook Fan Page and leave a related wall post before March 28. We’re giving away 5 pairs of tickets and if you’re one of the lucky winners we’ll contact you so you can come claim your prize! Follow this link to the “Postal” Facebook Fan Page and enter right away!

Users going Postal

It has been interesting watching the responses come in to MovieSet’s “What’s In the Bag” contest for “Postal” and it’s only been one day. Some have taken a realistic approach to the question and put some thought into what sort of item should be in a bag worn by an adventurer archaeologist. Some others have embraced the zaniness of “Postal”’s adult comedy and come up with some rather, shall I say, colorful and novel ideas for what’s lurking in there. Since all contest entrants are automatically included in the draw I thought that in the days to come I would share some of the wackier answers that we’ve received, like:

– A Nintendo Wii (a good guess since those bloody things are next-to-impossible to find)

– a copy of “Archaeology For Dummies”

– Harrison Ford’s Viagra (zing!)

– “An Uwe Boll action figure, I’d buy it.”

– “Leather-wrapped Incan vibrators.” Hey, someone’s been looking in my desk.

– Nazi Gold.

– Mini-Indiana’s Little Black Book.

– Uwe Boll’s career, Uwe Boll’s talent and/or Uwe Boll’s testicles, take your pick. The thing of it is, the Boll-man would get a kick out of the swipes at him, too (watch”Postal” for Boll’s cameo as a German theme park operator and you’ll see what I mean.)

– A copy of “Postal 2: Share the Pain”.

– Ammo

– A first aid pack

– the head of Indiana Jones

– “Whatever it is, it’s better than Indiana Jones.”

– “DVDs of all of Uwe Boll’s previous excellent films, and hopefully a theatrical poster for this next one!”

– And so far my personal, not safe for work (NSFW) entry: “The heart of Uwe Boll and the penis of Verne Troyer. Uwe Boll doesn’t need his heart and Verne Troyer has a giant cock.” You can’t say that I didn’t warn you.

Enter MovieSet’s “Postal” contest and get in on your chance to win a one-of-a-kind item that you will love forever, hand down generation to generation or sell for millions of dollars on eBay. The choice will be yours.

MovieSet launches an exclusive “Postal” contest!

If you haven’t already hit MovieSet’s listing for Uwe Boll’s black humor satire “Postal” then you need to report there, stat! We have just launched our latest contest giving away an exclusive, one of a kind movie item that will be featured in “Postal”. All you have to do is watch the latest video posted on the “Postal” page (my, that was a lot of P’s), see Verne Troyer dressed up as Mini-Indy and then enter our contest by taking a guess as to what’s in Mini-Indy’s bag. That’s all that you need to do! The wackier the entry, the better your chances could be. Let your mind go nuts and get in the spirit of “Postal”’s sense of skewed humor and you will be on the right track.

We’re really excited about this latest MovieSet content and believe that it’s our best one yet. I know what’s in the bag, I’ve seen it and held it and believe me, if you’re a fan of movies you will want this. No one else in the world has one quite like it!

Watch Verne Troyer’s Mini-Indy video clip and then enter the “What’s In the Bag” contest before it closes on April 13. Don’t miss out on this one or you will be left holding your own bag!

Charlie Bartlett winners announced!

Today was the big day, not just because it’s a Leap Day (go February 29 birthday people go!) but that it was the day we drew the winners of the “Charlie Bartlett” contest. As the time grew close a hush descened upon the office. You could feel the electricity in the air, and it wasn’t just from the static discharge that comes from walking on a carpet and opening a metal doorknob (but that helped.)

Then the time was upon us. Charged with the task of drawing the names of five winners, two intrped, brave MovieSet employees went forth. A hand reached down to select the first name…well, OK, it was the electronic version of a hand, but you get the point. Five winners were drawn at random and they are:

Eric Vilbo

 Joe Cornell

Kimberly Balderas

Christopher Harner

Malisa Bal

Congratulations to our five winners! Your ultra-cool Bartlett swag winnings will soon be out the door and in the postal system to await your bodily usage. And for the rest of you that entered but didn’t win, stick around and see what our next contest will be. We’ve got one in the planning stages that will shake this coming Presidental election to its core. You could even say that it’s partially plucked from today’s headlines. What is it and how can you take a shot at winning the prize? Stay tuned, purchase your life insurance and keep your internet connection paid in full!
