It’s about time that 007’s villains got their own watches

There’s so many items that are movie tie-ins that it’s hard to get excited about seeing the next action figure, Star Wars hoodie design or special edition DVD case, but today I saw something that got me feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. Swatch unveiled their latest special line-up of watches: 22 watches all inspired by the villains from the James Bond film series. Each 007 movie bad guy/gal gets his own her own watch. I’ve gone through all 22 different designs and they all have their own kind of awesome.

For instance, the watch inspired by Moonraker bears the name of the company that the villain owned, Hugo Drax Industries. Several of the watches have a distinct Soviet Union retro flair. The watch for Octopussy reads one of the film’s most memorable lines uttered by the villain, General Orlov: “Yes but tomorrow I shall be a hero of the Soviet Union.” The voodoo witch doctor Baron Samedi from Live and Let Die has his own skeletal watch as well! And not all the watches are male-centered; several honor the femme fatales from the series like Rosa Klebb in From Russia With Love or Xenia Onatopp from GoldenEye.

Check out the selection and then write down your favorite and send it off to Santa. I think you’re just in time to meet his deadline for your holiday wish list.
