The Twilight Phenomenon
“Twilight (2005), is the first book in Stephenie Meyer’s teenage vampire series. It has grossed over $363 million and continues to grow not only in numbers, but in fanbase as well.
The story begins as an ordinary young adult novel. Readers are introduced to star-crossed lovers Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), an average teenage girl and her vampire boyfriend. It has been a favorite among critics and recognized by The New York Times as their Editor’s Choice and Publisher’s Weekly as The Best Book of the Year. It has also been praised by parents for its lack of sexual content and strong language that is often prevalent in other popular young adult books.
New Moon (Released in 2006) is the sequel to Twilight. New Moon picks up where Twilight ended, however, the mood of this novel is darker, focusing on Bella and Edward’s separation and the truth behind fellow friend Jacob’s identity is revealed. The decision behind the title is based on the darkest phase of the moon’s cycle, which coincidentally marks Bella’s darkest period as well.”

“New Moon” currently filming in Vancouver
New Moon is tentatively scheduled for release on November 20, 2009. The film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively.
The first official signs of new moon came along a few months ago when a mysterious ad on Craigslist surfaced creating alot of buzz on twilight forums and other fansites.
“Aikins/Cossey Casting is conducting a three city search for a Major Motion Picture. We are looking for young FIRST NATIONS/ABORIGINAL ACTORS AND ACTRESSES BETWEEN THE AGES OF 15 and 25. It will shoot in Vancouver starting mid March to the end of May. Experience is not a requirement. If you are male or interested in a speaking part in a Hollywood release, please consider attending an open call in your area at the following location:”

There have also have been several spottings of the Twilight celebrities all over town here in Vancouver, including Robert Pattinson spotted at Republic Nightclub on the Granville Strip. Check it.

“So yes they have locations at Kitsilano, the park in Port Coquitlam, and a couple others, they are pretty much always on Burrard, Robson, Yaletown or around the Art Gallery (shopping district) and recently Richards on Richards (night club) They are quick to catch because there are literally a group of at least 3-6 people who sit outside the hotel for hours (11 one day) and wait for any sign of them, when one gets spotted all hell breaks loose and there is a swarm, it made our stay at the hotel interesting, and the waits for all good restaurants was crazy long without a reservation.”
