Backstory of ‘The Blind Side’ – Meet Michael Oher and the Touhys

This CBS news feature on the eve of NFL draft gives the backstory about ‘The Blind Side’ with Sandra Bullock and Tim Mcgraw playing the Touhy family who befriended and adopted Michael Oher who was an All-American at Ole Miss before the Baltimore Ravens drafted him in the 1st round.

When a movie is based on real life events, it’s interesting to see how closely the characters resemble their real life counterparts. In the case of Sandra Bullock sassy Southern lady and Tim McGraw’s easy-going husband in ‘The Blind Side‘ the filmmakers seem to copied the Touhys – the family who befriended Michael Oher – very closely rather than re-invent the characters for Hollywood.
