Beat Down tells the story of Brandon, a 21-year-old with a problem: the mob wants him to pick up his dead brother’s substantial tab, and he’s stuck in a dead-end town. His only option is to literally fight his way out of this predicament. Making friends and enemies along the way, he starts to realize that what he’s really fighting for is the opportunity to bring fulfillment to his life and the ones he loves.

In the film, Trejo plays Marcus, Brandon’s  disabled father.  He’s a hard headed, religious old man who doesn’t have much respect for his son

  1. Danny,

As someone just starting out in film, it seems like a miracle that you went from “He looks like good in the background” to the guy everybody recognizes from dozens of films.
Do you have any advice for those of us starting as extras on how to get noticed, how to get bigger parts, and eventually how to get into more films?

Like I said at “Machete,” Thanks for being a badass.

    Danny,

You’ve been in some very intense roles like Rob Zombie’s version of Halloween, I was wondering what type of training have you had to go through for the movies you’ve been in?

What type of role would you like to play that you have not been offered yet?

I watched the doc “Champion” and was moved by your story and how you came through the fire with personal integrity intact. Thank you for the good work you do.
