Irishman Shoots before Tiger Stadium is demolished

Irishman News ~ Extras, Tiger Stadium + Goodfella of Comedy

The Irishman Crew were shooting at Tiger Stadium just days before the Detroit ballpark’s expected demolition.

Producer Bart Rosenblatt says Detroit is standing in for 1970s-era Cleveland. He says filmmakers wanted to use an “iconic” landmark while shooting in the city. Filming at the stadium was set for This Past Thursday evening.

Tiger Stadium opened in 1912 as Navin Field. The Tigers departed after the 1999 season. Much of the stadium was demolished last year, and a proposal to preserve and redevelop the remaining structure has been rejected. Demolition has already started.
