Miley Cyrus plays Ronnie, New York teenager ‘forced’ to live with her Dad over summer break in The Last Song. I don’t know what her problem is, he has an amazing house right on the beach, just relax and work on your tan! Dear Dad attempts to connect with Ronnie through their shared love of music. Directed by Nicholas Sparks, writer of The Notebook, this movie promises to be the ultimate chick flick. The trailer screamed A Walk to Remember…then I realized Sparks wrote that novel too.
Upon further research I discovered the strapping young lad in this trailer is Australian, Liam Hemsworth (who I had a major crush on from Neighbours). Go Aussie! Apparently the role of Ronnie is a very serious and deep one, not Miley’s usual delivery, though looking forward to seeing her tackle it. If anything, she’ll provide a poignant soundtrack to those significant scenes.

This movie is definitely going to be a hit at the box office. Hopefully it’s because Miley does a good job in the film and not just because she has a huge following.
