The role for Warner Brothers upcoming live action DC Comics based superhero movie has been officially snatched
After companies debating for months, on who to choose for the role of the test pilot “Hal Jordan”, juggling between Justin Timberlake, Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Ryan Reynolds, Jared Leto, Warner Bros. finally decided to go with Ryan Reynolds to play the “Green Lantern.”
Ryan and his people started negotiations for the “Green Lantern” on Friday July 10,2009.
One of the reasons why the casting took so long is because Donald De Line, Martin Campbell,and Warner Bros. each had a different favorites among the final three actors, and it made it difficult for them to choose the right individual.
Reynolds performance as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, along with the success of his movie with Sandra Bullock, The Proposal, are likely what won over the producers and the acclaimed director.

In my opinion, this is the last great comic book movie that hasn’t been made, It was a comic book with real mythology that you would see in a lot of the space operas and sci-fi books. The best part about it, anybody can become one of the Green Lanterns because anyone can end up with that ring.

The Green Lantern character is already set to make a big screen appearance in the forthcoming Justice League movie, although that will feature the John Stewart iteration of the character – who took over from Jordan in the 1970s.
