Blizzard announces Sam Raimi will Direct the World of Warcraft Movie
We see a human paladin, walking from the gentle forests of elwynn forest, he approaches the gates of Stormwind. Camera zooms on all the statues. The fauna, the animals, everything needs to be grasped. Our human paladin, in slow motions walks towards the center with hammer in hand. Our human paladin takes a step into our beloved city, and instantly, we realize that 8 million subscribers are gonna riot if Sam Raimi doesn’t absolutely kill it.

Legendary Pictures, which joined Warner Brothers in backing “The Dark Knight” and “300,” took a big step toward assembling what may be its next blockbuster franchise: the company said on Tuesday that Sam Raimi had agreed to direct a movie based on the World of Warcraft online game and fantasy universe.
Blizzard has issued a press release on their website, which mentions this about Raimi’s career:
Raimi directed the Spider-Man trilogy, which has broken box-office records around the world and garnered five Academy Award® nominations. Known for his imaginative film making style, richly drawn characters and offbeat humor, Raimi wrote and directed the cult classic, The Evil Dead and produced 30 Days Of Night. He most recently wrote and directed the supernatural thriller, Drag Me To Hell.
All and all, fans and the uninitiated alike should expect a mega huge adaptation in the vein of Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
