One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Goldfish
.Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo has been referred to as a modern version of the classic tale of the Little Mermaid. It’s an animated adventure centered on a 5-year-old boy and his relationship with a goldfish princess who longs to become human.
SlashFilms.com reports that the filmmaker may be making a rare public appearance this year in San Diego and the LA Film Fest in ”Will Hayao Miyazaki Appear at Comic-Con?“. With Miyazaki, best known for his work in the 2002 animated film: Spirited Away, already scheduled to appear & accept an award (not to mention premiere Ponyo) in the Bay area, its not a huge stretch to imagine him at Comic-Con. I hope all our Comic-Con bound readers will keep an eye out.
With Miyazaki’s long history of amazing animated features, which have garnered more and more western support in this last decade, Ponyo is sure to wow audiences this August 14th.
