Spider-Man 4 a done deal for Tobey and Sam?
Published by Patrick Sauriol on September 5th, 2008 - 9:31 pm
According to the illustrious Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood Daily, Columbia Pictures has closed a deal that would see Spider-Man director Sam Raimi and star Tobey Maguire come back to make Spider-Man 4. I have no idea how many dumptrucks of money the studio must have used to entice the twosome back for a fourth round of superheroics but it has to be a lot. Let's hope that the script for number 4 (written by Zodiac screenwriter James Vanderbilt) is a lot better than the fragmentary mess that was Spider-Man 3.

MPAA bans Zack and Miri Make a Porno Poster
Published by Mike Browne on September 5th, 2008 - 4:11 pmOh no! Did I read that title correctly? Kevin Smith must have really made a boo boo with his poster for the upcoming Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Goodness gracious what the heck can be so bad? Kevin Smith has already had issues with the MPAA around the rating for this film and won an appeal to reduce the rating from NC-17 to Restricted. This must really be horrific.
The offending poster after the jump (believe me I'm protecting you):

New photos from Twilight
Published by Patrick Sauriol on September 4th, 2008 - 7:26 pm
Summit Entertainment tapped us on the shoulder and told us about some new stills from their upcoming it's-gonna-be-a-hit Twilight. We've got a photo showing Edward (Robert Pattison) opening a can of vampire whoop-ass on James (Cam Giganet); we've got a still of Natalie (played by Nikki Reed, there she is over on the right) that I haven't seen anywhere else on the 'net; and last but not least, there's a photo of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward and his fang gang.

This film has tongues a waggin' with Oscar buzz already. Milk also starring Emile Hirsch (who's hair I absolutely hate in this trailer) and James Franco with a prosthetic penis promises to be one of this year's popular political statement film. Gremlins vs. The Exorcist, Batman, The Goonies and everyone else
Published by Patrick Sauriol on September 3rd, 2008 - 7:17 pmCheck this awesome fan-made video out. Sacha Feiner is a filmmaker living in Brussels who really dug Gremlins 2 and wanted to see a sequel. Since Warner Bros. didn't make a third movie, he made his own using a hand-crafted Gremlins model, a bluescreen and a lot of free time. The result is a short film that you've gotta see for yourself to believe:

Watchmen trial begins January 6
Published by Patrick Sauriol on September 3rd, 2008 - 4:36 pm
Who owns the Watchmen? That's what federal court judge Gary Allen Feess will have to decide upon when the cast of who has the movie rights to the Watchmen comic book series begins in Los Angeles on January 6. 20th Century Fox is claiming that it still owns the rights under the terms and conditions of a 1991 contract with producer Lawrence Gordon. Warner Bros., the company that has made the Watchmen movie, says no way.
