Casting for the Roles of:
Barbara Winslow – 10 -12,
Barbara is an endearing social butterfly. If she isn’t on the phone getting the latest gossip from her friends, then she is discretely texting her take on things to them. The world as she knows it crumbles when her parents Phil and Debbie announce that they are relocating to the O.C. from her home base in Kansas. Even at her worst, Barbara is never rude or unlikeable, she simply becomes an emotionally overwhelmed tween. This seems to pass when she befriends a popular boy, Bodie, but she gets so wrapped up in their new relationship that she ends up distancing herself from her family and Marmaduke. Barbara is truly saddened by her neglectful actions when she learns that Marmaduke has run away.
THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE OPTIONS.
Brian Winslow – 8 - 10,
Brian is a smart, lovable klutz. He’s seen most times in front of a video game happily playing vicariously through the characters on the screen. Brian is truly intelligent but is accident prone causing him to be a bit reluctant to try new things. When he learns of the move to the O.C., he takes the high road and simply goes along for the ride. Out of guilt, his father Phil is enticed to buy him gifts that involve physical risks. Brian shows courage, and even though most of the activities result in complete catastrophe, he dusts himself off and tries again. Like his sister, he is truly saddened when Marmaduke runs away. Brian is forced to realize the consequences of his neglect of Marmaduke, who is truly a part of the family.
THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE OPTIONS.

If you haven’t been checking “Sweetwater” director Martin Guigui’s blog here on MovieSet then you’re missing out on what it’s like being on the front lines of the film fight. Not only is Martin posting blogs about what the latest news is with his movie, he’s also told us about an open casting call happening at the end of this month. The search is underway for a talented young (25ish) black actor to play the part of Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, the first African-American to play in the NBA back in the 1950s. Guigui has already told us about the interest of A-list actors in playing Sweetwater’s coach and teammates but for the part of the main guy, anyone with the acting chops could land the part and kick off their movie career in a huge way. Read about where and when the open casting call is taking place right here on MovieSet. We’ve even got copies of the sides to help you prepare for your audition and have created a Facebook event page to keep you informed on the latest news. Just one thing: if you land the gig ‘cuz of MovieSet, I call dibs on your first interview!
