A trailer for CHE

Wednesday, December 03, 2008

Here’s the latest trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s epic Che:

It appears that Che Guevara really is more than just a cool image on a t-shirt. Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, politician, author, physician, military theorist, guerrilla leader and obviously someone worth making a very long film about. So long, four and on half hours in fact, that it required being broken into two parts. The first one called The Argentinian is due for a January 2009 release and the second part, entitled Guerrilla, is slated for a month later, in February 2009.

I guess the above trailer covers both films.

All kidding aside, Benicio del Toro has already received a best acting award from Cannes for his performance, so watch for an Oscar nod for him as well.

Trailer for Soderbergh’s Che biopic

Che poster

Innovative film director Steven Soderbergh’s film about the Argentinian Marxist revolutionary, Che Guevera, is so long at 4 and 1/2 hours that it had to be split into two films to be distributed domestically by IFC Films. The first one called The Argentinian is set for release in January of 2009 and the second, entitled Guerrilla, is slated for a February release.

Of not, Soderbergh shot the epic project on RED cameras. RED cameras use no film at all and are fully digital.

Check out the trailer after the jump.
