No doubt Comic-Con is *the* place to release new artwork and news about sci-fi, super-hero, comic, manga, fantasy-ish inspired movies. Like the other studios, Disney is going all out to build the excitement for a few notable movies in their stable.

At an all 3-D panel, Disney released images from A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland and Tron 2.0 - all movies we’ve monitored for months. While some of the “new” stuff released, we’ve had for a while, there are a few fresh tid-bits to share.

Alice is Everywhere!

The master cultural re-mixers at Disney have teamed up with Tim Burton to interpret yet another piece of cultural history - this time is (yet another) film adaption of Lewis Carrol’s classic novel ‘Alice in Wonderland‘.

Whichever camp garners the most fans gets first peek at the Alice in Wonderland Teaser Trailer.

Disney’s Official Alice contest:

The Loyal Subjects of the Red Queen, the Loyal Subjects of the White Queen, and the Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter are all building armies on Facebook. The fan page with the biggest army at 4PM PDT on Thursday, July 24 will get to see an exclusive new trailer from Disney’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND before anyone else. Johnny Depp - Alice in Wonderland

By Quinn Bender
movieset.com

Before fans get a sneak peak of it at San Diego Comic-Con Thursday, there’s been a lot of talk about how Tim Burton will handle — or mishandle — his adaptation of the classic novel Alice in Wonderland. But the folks over at MTV caught up with the director and found some answers. Not surprisingly, Burton found major flaws in earlier adaptions and ventured with a movie, starring Johnny Depp, that picks up after Alice’s original voyage, when she once again falls down the rabbit hole.

“For me, that’s always been a problem with the movie versions of it,” Burton told MTV. “It’s always been a girl going from one weird adventure to another, and for me it didn’t have much of an impact in the versions I’d seen before. Everyone’s crazy. We tried to take the ‘Alice’ mythology and characters and make a story out of it and be true to the spirit of what ‘Alice’ is about. The other versions for me suffer because there’s no movement to it. It’s just one weird event after another. We’re trying to ground it a little a bit.”

Check out these awesome clips from the new movie “Public Enemies” with Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.

In the action-thriller Public Enemies, acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the incredible and true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger (Depp), the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone, from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard), to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. - In Theaters July 1st, 2009.
