In recognition of Max Payne opening in theaters today (don’t forget to enter our contest to win a poster signed by the movie’s cast!), here’s a clip from yesterday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Max Payne star Mark Wahlberg was on the show and Jimmy got Mr. Entourage to wax about the recent Saturday Night Live skit which poked fun at him. Wahlberg’s answer was funny and a little bit frightening too:

Max Payne producer to take on Duke Nukem

Scott Faye, producer of Max Payne, the video game film starring Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Beau Bridges and rapper turned actor Ludacris. set to be released on October 17th, has been tlaking to popular video game blog Kotaku. Faye is looking toward the popular 3D Realms video game Duke Nukem as his next project.
Who’ll play Duke though?
I can see Bruce Willis in the part already and, apparently so did the artist who did the above rendering. Hurry up Hollywood, Bruce is getting a little long in the tooth for this role. Maybe Jason Statham would work as well, but he’d have to learn to speak like and American. Duke’s not a Brit.

Max Payne at MovieSet

Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) is a cop on the edge. After losing his family and his partner to criminal violence, Max takes it up to seek vengeance on those responsible. Sure, the movie’s premise sounds like it’s total cliché, and maybe it is, but the trailer for the film is visually arresting. Are those angels that Max sees flying around him? Nope — try valkyries, the Norse winged warriors that carry those fallen in battle into the afterlife. So what are they doing in what’s supposed to be your typical “wronged cop seeking revenge” movie? Good question, but now I’m definitely interested in finding out the answer.
