Race to Witch Mountain floors it with new trailer
Monday, November 17, 2008

We’ve already seen the release of the new Star Trek trailer today and now comes a second movie preview. Those that had parents that took them to see Disney movies in the 1970s will remember Escape to Witch Mountain and watching the two alien kids with paranormal powers racing to get back home. Well, because remakes are all the rage we’re getting Race to Witch Mountain, the update starring Dwayne Johnson (Get Smart, The Scorpion King) and Carla Gugino (Spy Kids, Watchmen). Johnson plays a cab driver that becomes the guardian for two pre-teens that have to get back to their spacecraft that crashed at Witch Mountain while Gugino is the UFO believer that tags along. There’s a bunch of stock bad guys out to capture the kids and steal their alien technology (Ciaran Hinds, who you may remember as Daniel Day Lewis’ right-hand man in There Will Be Blood, is their leader.) New Harry Potter trailer is such a tease
Sunday, November 16, 2008

Really Mr. Potter, how do you do it? First you promise your fans that your new film, in which you investigate the mystery surrounding the half-blooded prince, will come out in November. Then your corporate masters decide to change their minds and shelve your appearance until next July, leaving other pale-faced bloodsuckers to take your release date. And then when you decide to show back up and remind us all that you still exist, it’s with a week to go until that fresh-faced vampy show has its opening night! You think that there was some kind of master plan at work! Continue reading…

2012 teaser trailer
Thursday, November 13, 2008
Check out the teaser trailer for uber-weird director Roland Emmerich’s 2012:
It appears the end is nigh. The release date for 2012 is July 10, 2009 rather than in 2012. It gives us three years to obsess about what’s really going to happen.

Traveling down the Revolutionary Road
Thursday, November 13, 2008

One film that I’ve been looking forward to watching this year is Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road. I loved his first film, American Beauty, but Road to Perdition and Jarhead didn’t connect with me the same way. However, based on the first trailer for Revolutionary Road and the other things that I’ve read about the movie’s premise, my interest in Mendes latest effort is quite high. Continue reading…

Trailer for Monsters vs. Aliens promises digital mayhem
Tuesday, November 04, 2008

With the kind of high concept ideas contained in computer animated films, a movie titled Monsters vs. Aliens was bound to happen. From the studio that brought you Shrek, Madagascar and Kung-Fu Panda comes another family friendly adventure that will likely make $300 million and spawn Monsters vs. Aliens 2, 3, 4 and so on. Expect to see little tots sporting Monsters vs. Aliens t-shirts, lunch boxes, playing Monsters vs. Aliens video games, action figures, swapping collectible trading cards…you get the picture. Dogs and cats, living together, mass hysteria! Continue reading…

Friday the 13th trailer online
Thursday, October 23, 2008
The trailer for this Friday the 13th remake looks like fun. I’m not sure how I feel about fast Jason though. His slow but relentless pace in the older films is part of what made him as scary as he was. I do realize that Jason ran in a couple of the those movies, but that doesn’t mean I have to like that fact.

“Terminator: Salvation” trailer shows more man versus machine mayhem
Thursday, July 24, 2008
Terminator: Salvation is the fourth film in the legendary Terminator film saga and also the start of a new beginning for the franchise. Sam is a butcher who is good at his job. He has a girlfriend, Darcy and a stable life working at a meat processing plant until the arrival of a mysterious and beautiful woman named Andris comes between him and Darcy. After Andris seduces Darcy away from Sam, the butcher makes the shocking discovery that the stranger is in fact a vampire. As Sam sets out to kill the bloodsuckers and return Darcy back to him he meets another vamp from the same clan, Lily, who longs to be human like him.
“Blood: A Butcher’s Tale” is written and directed by Mark Tuit (”Subhuman”) and stars “Battlestar Galactica”’s Aaron Douglas as Sam, Kim Coates(”Silent Hill”), Jennifer Sciole (”Descent”), Christa Campbell (”The Wicker Man”), and “Ginger Snaps” star Emily Perkins. Tuit filmed his movie using greenscreen technology to create its backgrounds à la “300″ or “Sin City” and will also incorporate a videogame sequel into the release of the movie.

Gimme the trailer for Shelter
Friday, April 11, 2008
Chris Elston’s thriller “Shelter” takes the notion of the end of the world and gives it a dramatic twist. Suppose you knew that in an hour a worldwide catastrophe was going to happen and you also knew of a place where your safety would be guaranteed. Now suppose that this refuge could only provide safety for 10 people but that there were more than that small number waiting inside. Would you be able to decide whether your life was worth more than the life of another? Could you defend yourself from others that wanted to take your spot? What would you do if your space was assured but you still had to help decide who among the others would stay and who would be kicked out? Could you make those kinds of decisions or would you let others make them for you?
MovieSet’s page for “Shelter” has gone live and now you can watch the trailer for this tense pre-post-apocalyptic faceoff. In addition to the film’s trailer we also have five scenes that you can stream and see. Stick with MovieSet and we promise that we won’t vote to kick you out of the survival shelter when the end of the world comes.
Share your thoughts on what you think of “Shelter” in the comments below or tell us what your favorite end of the world movies are. Do you prefer fighting off neverending hordes of zombies, going out in the blink of an eye in nuclear war or roaming the deserted roadways looking for the precious juice with your buddy Mad Max?
