Julian, Bubbles & Ricky in Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day
The boys are about to get out of jail, and this time, Julian vows to go straight, even open a legit business. Soon the Boys will all be rich. At least that’s what they’ve told the parole board. But when they arrive back at the park, they find it’s not the same old Sunnyvale – and it’s not the same old Jim Lahey, Trailer Park Supervisor. Lahey’s a new man, hasn’t had a drink for two years. And he has plans – BIG PLANS – for Sunnyvale. But unfortunately for Lahey, Julian stands in his way. With his big plans for Sunnyvale going down the toilet, his relationship with Randy broken down, and having the Boys back in the park is all way too much pressure for him to bear. For Jim Lahey, the countdown to liquor day is on. Meanwhile, Julian’s having problems of his own and the Boys are forced to resort to doing what they know best – breaking the law. Lahey’s descent into the liquor coupled with the Boys descent into crime puts them all on a collision course to mayhem and destruction.

Coco Before Chanel
If perky musicals give you a headache, then perhaps you should take a mental field-trip to early 20th century France with the biographical drama Coco Before Chanel staring Audrey Tautou, Benoît Poelvoorde, Alessandro Nivola, Marie Gillain and Emmanuelle Devos.

Audrey Tautou as Coco in Coco Before Chanel
Coco Before Chanel is the story of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel before she was France’s famous mademoiselle. Having begins her life as a headstrong orphan, Coco fulfils her future destiny through an extraordinary journey through French high society that makes her the legendary couturier that embodied the modern woman and a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style.
Bright Star
But Coco Before Chanel isn’t the only biographical period piece out there! Check out director Jane Campion’s romantic drama Bright Star based on the three-year romance between 19th century poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, played by rising stars Ben Whishaw and Abbie Cornish.

Abbie Cornish and Ben Whishaw in Bright Star
In Bright Star a secret love affair begins between 23-year-old English poet, John Keats, and the girl next door, Fanny Brawne, an outspoken student of fashion. This unlikely pair started at odds; he thinking her a stylish minx, she unimpressed by literature in general. It was the illness of Keats’s younger brother that drew them together. Keats was touched by Fanny’s efforts to help and agreed to teach her poetry. By the time Fanny’s alarmed mother and Keats’s best friend Brown realized their attachment, the relationship had an unstoppable momentum. Intensely and helplessly absorbed in each other, the young lovers were swept into powerful new sensations, “I have the feeling as if I were dissolving”, Keats wrote to her. Together they rode a wave of romantic obsession that deepened as their troubles mounted. Only Keats’s illness proved insurmountable.
Surrogates
If it’s action your looking for, then look no further than sci-fi/thriller Surrogates. Based on the graphic novel by Brett Weldele and Robert Venditti, Surrogates stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, Boris Kodjoe and Ving Rhames.

Bruce Willis stars as Agent Greer in Surrogates

As the case grows more complicated, however, the withdrawn detective discovers that in order to actually catch the killer he will have to venture outside the safety of his own home for the first time in many years, and enlists the aid of another agent in tracking his target down.
Pandorum
But Surrogates isn’t the only sci-fi/thriller out this weekend. If you want to watch something a little more scary, then check out Christian Alvart’s Pandorum staring Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster, Cam Gigandet, Antje Traue and Cung Le. I went to an early screening of this Thursday evening, and it was WAY better than I was expecting. Super scary and unpredictable!
