Fighting for attention

Channing Tatum stars in Fighting

The trailer for Rogue Pictures property, Fighting, with Battle in Seattle star, Channing Tatum, and Terrence Howard of Iron Man has been unleashed:

This film will appeal to the teenage, Fast & Furious crowd for sure. A dark and brooding, but good looking and likable, young guy who is down on his luck meets someone who sees his talents for what they are, he meets/fights for/gets a pretty girl and finds success becoming more of a man in the process. It sounds like the recipe for every other film like this but there’s a reason why they work. The right people relate.

Although this film isn’t necessarily something that would be at the top of my ‘to watch’ list I’d have eaten something like this up when I was a kung fu obsessed and disenfranchised tween. All I had were Karate Kid, Gymkata and Top Gun. Enough said.

There’s more photos from the film and a synopsis after the jump:

Synopsis:

Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) has come to New York City with nothing. Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting. When Harvey offers Shawn help at making the real cash, the two form an uneasy partnership.

As Shawn’s manager, Harvey introduces him to the corrupt bare-knuckle circuit, where rich men bet on disposable pawns. Almost overnight, he becomes a star brawler, taking down professional boxers, mixed martial arts champs and ultimate fighters in a series of staggeringly intense bouts. But if Shawn ever hopes to escape the dark world in which he’s found himself, he must now face the toughest fight of his life.
